REEDLEY – Reedley High swimmer and diver Scott Dutcher felt ready for the biggest moment on the biggest stage of his young diving career. And with grace and skill, Dutcher’s leap into the water turned into the record-breaking moment he had expected.
Ever since his junior year, Dutcher had the all-time Tri-County Conference (TCC) dive record of 479.35, which was set by Jeff Watamura back in 1989, firmly in his sights. And at the TCC Dive Championships on May 1 at Sierra Pacific High, Dutcher’s final leap off the platform finally toppled a cherished score that stood for nearly 35-years.
