Man who police say fired at toddler, mom in Fresno shootout named

FRESNO, Calif. (

) – The man who police say shot at a mother and toddler in Fresno earlier this week, in a shootout that prompted a Fresno Police sergeant to get involved to defend the two victims, was named by officials on Friday.

Officers say 31-year-old Martin Campos was the man who prompted the domestic violence incident on Wednesday. Police say they received a 911 call around 2:30 p.m. on First Street and Shields Avenue regarding a woman driving with her three-year-old while her 31-year-old ex-boyfriend was ramming her car.

According to police, the chase ended after a police sergeant spotted the two vehicles involved, causing the two vehicles to stop, the suspect to start shooting at the window of the victim’s vehicle, and the sergeant to start shooting back. The suspect then attempted to flee the scene and was stopped a short time later…
