How to keep your pet safe on the Fourth of July

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fourth of July is just around the corner, and it could be a dangerous time for your pet.

Ruben Cantu with the Valley Animal Center says animals trying to escape the noise of fireworks lead to life-threatening situations.

“We’ve seen cases of not only dogs that have been hit by cars after escaping their yard or breaking through a fence. But we’ve also seen self-injury, trying to get through the fence or digging under a fence,” Cantu said…
