Deputy beaten while attempting to arrest wanted felon in Madera County, sheriff’s officials say

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Madera County deputy was beaten while trying to arrest a wanted felon Tuesday morning, the sheriff’s office said.

On Monday, law enforcement first made contact with 40-year-old Felix Adrian Nucamendi Carrasco. The sheriff’s office said he was being questioned about a fire incident near the Fresno River, adjacent to the area of the Santa Fe train tracks.

The following morning, just after 9:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office sent a deputy back to the area, near Carrasco’s encampment, to place him under arrest.

During the contact, the sheriff’s office says Carrasco violently resisted, kicking the deputy and striking him multiple times in the head…
