Bantamweight Jordan Fuentes satisfied a packed house in what was (sort of) his first main event.
Fuentes stopped Steveen Angeles Cruz, of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, in the first round Saturday at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. The time of stoppage was 51 seconds.
Fuentes filled the building as a local attraction who went on at 8:30 p.m. local time, after the broadcast main card concluded. Fuentes dropped Cruz with an overhand left in the opening round. Fuentes relentlessly looked for a finish, chasing Cruz to the ropes as referee Edward Collantes called off the bout.
