Madera County deputy carries injured child to safety from Rainbow Falls

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Madera County Sheriff’s deputy carried an injured child on his back to safety from Rainbow Falls Friday.

Hiker airlifted out of Madera County canyon

A deputy who was assigned to the Eastern Sierra region responded quickly to the call for help on Friday, July 11. The call was for an eight-year-old child who had suffered a severe foot injury while at Rainbow Falls.

The deputy arrived on foot and assisted the family in carrying the injured child 1.5 miles back to safety.

The family transported the child to Mammoth Hospital, and they received the care they needed…
