Suspect in deadly Fresno shooting arrested in Riverside County

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 41-year-old man was arrested in Riverside County on Monday following a deadly shooting in Fresno last month.

Police say the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Fresno Police Department’s Homicide detectives in arresting a suspect in the death of 27-year-old Julian Garcia. Garcia was shot and killed near Plumas Street and Lorena Avenue on June 20.

Officials say deputies from Riverside County were following up on leads from Fresno Police on the potential whereabouts of 41-year-old Raymond Ornelas Torres, who was wanted for the death of Garcia.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Enforcement Bureau responded to a location in Indio and found Torres and took him into custody.

After being interviewed by Fresno homicide detectives, Torres was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside…
