FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A bicycle and pedestrian safety operation in Fresno over the weekend resulted in 144 citations, the Fresno Police Department announced on Monday.
Officers say the city-wide safety operation issued 90 citations to drivers and 54 citations to pedestrians and cyclists.
Exceptions to California’s cellphone driving ban revealed
According to police, the drivers were cited for issues such as unsafe turning movement, failing to stop for a red light, unsafe speed, and using a phone behind the wheel. One driver was arrested on a charge of DUI. The pedestrians and cyclists were cited for various code violations.
