Fresno Unified defends $162,000 payout, trustee calls it ‘gobbledygook’

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno Unified released a statement Friday defending the district’s $162,000 payout to the former Chief Communications Officer who resigned after a scandal involving the use of artificial intelligence.

Nikki Henry resigned from her position with the district earlier this year after admitting she used AI to create a document with unsubstantiated quotes. That resignation was followed by a $162,000 payout from the school district.
