2 rescued after waking up to apartment fire in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two people were saved from an apartment fire in Fresno on Sunday afternoon, the Fresno Fire Department announced.

Just after 3:30 p.m. firefighters responded to multiple 911 calls regarding an apartment fire on Abby Street near McKenzie Avenue. As units were responding, they were told two residents were stuck inside.

Responding crews reported heavy fire coming from the second floor and immediately initiated a rescue for the two people inside. After extinguishing flames from the balcony, the two were safely rescued…
