FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man killed in a northwest Fresno shooting Saturday morning was previewing a yard sale being held by the suspect, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Saturday morning, officers responded to a home in the 5600 block of North Cleo Avenue after receiving a report of a shooting victim in the backyard.
Responding officers reported finding a 70-year-old man, identified by his family as Carl Johnson, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite first aid efforts, Johnson was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
Officers on scene were told the suspect had fled into the residence of the shooting and established a perimeter. Investigators say that’s when 46-year-old Stewart Coleman exited the home and was immediately detained.
