Man sentenced 50 years to life for 2023 murder in Madera

MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was sentenced to 50 years to life after killing another man in Madera, the Madera County District Attorney’s office said on Tuesday.

The DA’s office says Gonzalo Barrios was sentenced to 50 years to life in state prison for the first-degree murder of Thomas Aparicio.

Barrios was arrested back in 2023, after police responded to a shooting in the area of Country Club Drive and Clark Street. At the time, officers reported Aparicio was pronounced dead on the scene, and two people, Barrios and another suspect, Jose Perez, were arrested in connection with the incident…
