MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Madera Unified students head back to the classroom on Aug. 7 for the first day of school.
High school students should be prepared for changes in the classroom as they’ll have to go without their phones.
The district is rolling out “Yondr” brand phone pouches for students to lock their phones in during the school day. The pouch has a lock at the top that students can close by themselves, but will need a particular device from the school to unlock the pouch at the end of the day. Students will keep their phones on them, but they won’t be able to text, call, or scroll on social media…
