‘Dangerous particles’ racing through the air as California’s Gifford fire rages

As California’s Gifford fire rages on, an air quality advisory for the Bay Area has been issued, following concerns about the smoke moving into the region.

According to the Bay Area Air District, smoke from the raging Gifford Fire in Central California was expected to move over the area starting Tuesday.

“Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, and the smell of smoke is possible, especially at higher elevations, on Tuesday. In an advisory, ” wildfire smoke contains fine particulate matter and other harmful pollutants,” wrote the Bay Area Air District.
