2 vacant Fresno homes catch fire, 1 deemed total loss

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two vacant houses in Fresno caught fire Monday night. One of the houses has caught fire multiple times in the past, the Fresno Fire Department said.

At around 10:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 1200 block of N. Fruit Avenue for reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found a vacant, boarded-up home fully engulfed in flames.

The fire department said that the house on N. Fruit Avenue had been the site of previous fires. Due to the extent of the fire and the compromised structural integrity, firefighters said a defensive firefighting strategy was implemented…
