FOWLER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was arrested on charges of DUI after crashing on the Highway 99 embankment in Fowler Saturday evening, the Fowler Police Department announced.
Police say they responded to a reported crash in the area of Fowler Avenue and Fresno Street, where officers found a car crashed into an embankment.
Investigators reported the driver, believed to be under the influence of alcohol, failed to stop at the stop sign southbound on Fowler Avenue and hit a curb. The driver plowed through a fence and launched into the embankment before colliding with a freeway barrier, nearly entering the southbound lanes of Highway 99.
No oither vehicles were involved and officers report the suspected DUI driver sustained minor injuries….
