Storms hitting Central California with thunder, lightning and flooding

The Central Valley was hit with heavy storms on Tuesday as the area also deals with near triple-digit temperatures.

Much of the area started getting hit with thunder and lightning around 7:30 am. The National Weather Service in Hanford issued a Special Weather Statement for multiple areas of the Valley.

A temperature inversion, which means warm air sitting over cold, makes thunder sound super loud, which is what the Valley was experiencing…
