He attacked someone sleeping outside a Fresno hospital, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 36-year-old Fresno man was arrested after police say he attacked someone sleeping outside the emergency room at a Fresno-area hospital.

According to the Fresno Police Department, 36-year-old Davontey Laenright Miles was arrested following the incident that took place on Tuesday at around 4:20 a.m. outside St. Agnes Medical Center, at 1303 E Herndon Avenue.

Officers say the victim was sitting down and sleeping outside the emergency room with a blanket over him when the suspect struck the victim multiple times in the face. The victim woke up to being assaulted by the suspect. He pushed the suspect away and got away before hospital security detained him.

Officers say the victim will need sutures due to the extent of their injuries. The victim says he does not know why the suspect attacked him.
