Prep helped minimize Central Valley flooding issues during recent storm

FRESNO, Calif (KSEE/KGPE) – As rain swept across the Central Valley this week, Fresno City officials say their crews were ready thanks to proactive storm preparation completed well before the first drops fell.

Public Works Director Scott Mozier says the city began clearing storm drains and checking pump systems weeks in advance, helping to prevent widespread flooding and damage.

“The city team was ready and engaged in things like clearing drains weeks in advance,” said Mozier. “We made sure pumps were working… we were well prepared for the event.”…
