Bridge built 100 years ago in Clovis is getting a major upgrade

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A bridge that was built about 100 years ago in Clovis is getting a major upgrade.

The Leonard Avenue Bridge was built in 1925 as a two-lane timber bridge on Leonard Avenue, south of Bullard Avenue. Now, the bridge is undergoing an upgrade that will replace the two-lane bridge with four lanes.

The project is replacing the two-lane bridge with a double 8-foot by 14-foot reinforced concrete box culvert, which allows for future widening…
