Fresno homeless shelter to close just before Thanksgiving

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Fresno homeless shelter will close its doors shortly before Thanksgiving.

The Golden State Triage Center off West Olive Avenue ran out of state funding, forcing operations to come to an end on Nov. 15.

“We knew that money wouldn’t be provided to us from the state forever. So there has been a plan to convert those emergency shelters into permanent, affordable housing. And that’s what we’ve been doing,” said Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer…
