Driver crashes into Kingsburg Christmas tree, flees

KINGSBURG, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The search is underway for the Grinch who struck Christmas early this year in a hit-and-run in Kingsburg, the city announced Saturday.

According to Kingsburg Police, overnight, a driver sped into the base of the city’s Christmas tree located on Draper Street, near Smith Street.

Officers report the driver sped off, leaving a large dent beneath the tree. Public Works and Kingsburg firefighters responded to reassemble and secure the tree Saturday morning.

City officials confirm the final assembly and star placement on the tree will take place in the coming week…
