FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno restaurateur Bobby Salazar was back in federal court in Downtown Fresno on Monday afternoon, facing more charges related to accusations that he hired a gang member to set fire to his restaurant on Blackstone Avenue last year.
Salazar pleaded not guilty on Monday to the six federal charges he is facing. His court appearance was delayed to give Salazar time to get a new lawyer. Court documents show his new lawyer is from out of the state.

Indictments were returned on this case back in October; Salazar pleaded not guilty to commercial arson and mail fraud. He also pleaded not guilty to a gun charge that was added after a search of his home by investigators.
Court documents allege Salazar possessed a firearm that had been shipped and transported with the serial number removed or altered. He remains out of custody on a million-dollar bond after his arrest back in August.
