Dummy grenade found near Fresno pie shop

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A report of a “suspicious device” near a Fresno pie shop prompted a visit from the Fresno Police’s bomb disposal unit on Friday.

Police say they responded to the area of Shaw and Cedar avenues around 8 a.m., near the Marie Calendar’s, following a report from a waste management employee.

The employee reported that, while attempting to dump waste inside a dumpster, they found what they thought was a grenade.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team responded and determined the device was a dummy grenade and was not a threat. An X-ray of the device established that it was inert and did not contain any explosive material…
