Man on e-scooter hospitalized after being hit in Clovis

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man on an electric scooter was hospitalized Saturday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle while crossing an intersection, Clovis Police said.

Just after 12:30 p.m., officers were alerted to the collision in the crosswalk of Santa Ana and Clovis Avenues.

Police say the 20-year-old man was not wearing a helmet while he tried to cross Clovis Avenue. The driver of a sedan going the opposite direction saw the man in the crosswalk and stopped for him, but a pickup behind the sedan didn’t slow down and rear-ended it, pushing the sedan into the scooter…
