Suspect who police say shot at officers in Fresno named

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man who police say shot at officers during an incident over the weekend was named by officials on Monday.

According to the Fresno Police Department, officers contacted a man after suspicious activity was reported in an alley near the intersection of Clinton Avenue and West Avenue at around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday. During that incident, the man pulled out a gun and shot at one of the officers, striking the baseball cap the officer was wearing.

Police say the shooting prompted the responding officers to fire their guns in return. The suspect was struck once in the upper body and taken to the hospital. His condition is described as critical but stable.

On Monday, the Fresno Police Department named the suspect as 41-year-old Bradley Nicholson. Nicholson remains in the hospital, but will be booked into Fresno County Jail after he is released from medical care on charges including attempted murder of a police officer.

The Fresno Police Department adds that Nicholson was on a Post Supervised Community Supervision (PRCS) for burglary and had a felony warrant for his arrest, issued in September 2025…
