MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A man from California is facing a string of charges after he was accused of kidnapping a woman and raping her in Maryland in 2024, detailed police.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD), 27-year-old Mauricio Martinez-Garcia, who lives in Madera, Calif., was charged with two counts of first-degree rape, one count of third-degree sexual offense, two counts of kidnapping, and five counts of second-degree assault.
Police noted that the charges stemmed from an investigation into sexual assaults that took place in Gaithersburg and Prince George’s County.
