Suspect and victim in deadly Clovis fight named by police

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The suspect and the victim involved in a deadly fight in Clovis on Thursday were named by police on Friday.

Officers responded to the intersection of Villa Avenue and Ashlan Avenue in Clovis early Thursday morning to find a man dead. The body was found in the parking lot of the nearby Fresno County Child Protective Services.

On Friday, the Clovis Police Department identified the suspect as 53-year-old Charles Gulley. Jail records show Gulley, pictured below, was arrested on suspicion of voluntary manslaughter, which California law says is upon a sudden quarrel or heat of passion.

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 64-year-old Robert Ramage. According to Clovis Police, Ramage was found by a patrol officer with head trauma to his head.
