Truck hits pole in Fresno, causing power outage for hundreds

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Hundreds of PG&E customers in northeast Fresno were left without power Saturday due to a vehicle crash, Fresno police say.

First responders were called to the area of First Street and Ashlan Avenue around 11:15 a.m. for a report of a pickup that crashed into a power pole.

Police say the truck’s driver lost control of the vehicle after swerving to avoid hitting a cyclist and ended up striking the pole.

No injuries were reported, and investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash…
