FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Ahead of Thursday’s Fresno City Council meeting, some Fresno Unified leaders are concerned about the Southeast Development Area Plan (SEDA).
However, Mayor Jerry Dyer says it would have minimal impact on the district.
The proposed plan would annex 9,000 acres of Southeast Fresno, but Mayor Dyer says they’re focused on only developing a little over 2,000 acres to the south.
“This is Hamilton, and then it would go, this is what’s called the Briggs Canal, this outline here is the Briggs Canal, and there will be no growth outside of that area,” Dyer shows on the proposed land use map. Dyer says 450 acres would be strictly for housing, about 4,800 units to be exact. “And part of that would be town centers, perhaps.”…
