‘Chaotic day’: Heavy rains cause high call volume for Fresno first responders

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno’s first responders and public works crews are hard at work because of the weather.

“It’s been a pretty chaotic day so far,” said Fresno Fire Safety Officer John Pepper. He told YourCentralValley.com that there’s a combination of factors making their day so busy. “We’ve had several motor vehicle accidents today. I don’t even know the count right now. Most of them caused by the weather and the rain,” Pepper added.

Pepper oversees and responds to major incidents throughout the city, like the van that flipped near Highway 99 and Stanislaus. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt…
