PARLIER – From hearing the needs of struggling businesses to opening new city positions, the city council closed out 2025 with a short, but meaningful meeting.
On Dec. 19, the Parlier City Council held its final meeting of 2025, passing a total of 14 items on the consent calendar. Though many of the items were relatively routine, a few notable items rose above the rest during the half-hour meeting.
Construction hinders downtown businesses
The most notable moment of the meeting was the public comment which highlighted a pressing issue for businesses based in downtown Parlier.
Though multiple businesses attended the meeting to show their unified concerns, Señor Beef Owner Krystal Ortega took the lead to inform that council that the current reconstruction efforts are reducing accessibility to businesses, and the owners are feeling the financial burden…
