The Nelder Grove of Giant Sequoias in the Sierra National Forest will reopen to the public on January 1, 2026, after being closed for wildfire safety work.
The Sierra National Forest says the closure allowed crews to complete fuels reduction projects across nearly 700 acres, removing dead vegetation and small trees near the historic sequoias.
