Fresno WWII veteran celebrates 100th birthday with community

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A World War II veteran from Fresno celebrated his 100th birthday with the community, on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Veterans Memorial Museum in Fresno.

David Fusinato, who served in the Marine Corps for nearly three years, participated in the Battle of Okinawa, the last major battle of the war before the atomic bombs were dropped.

“We were so busy in the tanks, we didn’t have time to get scared or anything,” Fusinato said. “It was just day to day.”…
