Historic Southern Pacific Engine Finally Makes Move from Roeding Park to Kingsburg

  • On Monday, the Friends of the Historic Kingsburg Depot had the Southern Pacific Engine 1238 moved to its new home in Kingsburg.
  • A previous attempt to move the 67-ton engine in May 2025 failed, but made it easier to move Monday, said Michelle Roman, the nonprofit’s CEO.
  • The Southern Pacific Engine will be refurbished and will now have a home on 350 feet of brand-new track at the Kingsburg Depot.
