No. 15 Michigan rallies late but falls 11–10 to No. 4 Hawaii

For the No. 15 Michigan women’s water polo team, Sunday’s matchup against No. 4 Hawaii was one that got away from it.

Despite a furious four-goal surge in the final period, the Wolverines (0-3) were unable to overcome an early deficit, falling 11-10 at the Fresno State Aquatics Center. Against the Rainbow Wahine (2-1), Michigan’s struggle to finish its shot attempts in the first half decided the matchup.

The contest began with a defensive standoff until Hawaii broke through in the first period, scoring three times to take an early 3-0 lead.
