Fresno City Council approves construction of new senior healthcare facility

The Fresno City Council and planning commissioners met on Jan. 28 and moved forward with a rezoning application and development permit for a senior healthcare facility.

Expected to be finished in March 2027, the facility will provide care to those aged 55 and older and will serve approximately 100-200 patients per day, according to Valeria Ramirez with the Planning and Development Department in Fresno City.

“For the senior population, we now give them a place to come and a place to come and socialize and get meals and get their healthcare that’s in their neighborhood,” said Nicole Butler, executive director of operations at WelbeHealth. “In the area that it’s going in, I think it’s going to be very convenient for a lot of the population that lives over there.”…
