FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — As of Saturday, Community Medical Centers is no longer considered in-network for Blue Shield of California members, after the two sides failed to reach a new contract agreement.
The change impacts patients who receive care at Clovis Community Medical Center, Community Regional Medical Center, and Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital, all part of the Community system.
In a letter sent to a FOX26 viewer, Blue Shield outlined what the change could mean for members — including higher out-of-pocket costs. The letter also notes that, in some cases, patients may have a right to keep their specialist for a limited time under California’s Right of Continued Care law…
