Students ‘considered truant’ if they protest without permission, Clovis Unified says

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Clovis Unified says any student participating in a walkout protest, such as those protesting the actions of federal immigration officials, will be considered truant unless they have gone through the district-approved parent check-out procedures.

The warning on Thursday comes amid rumors of student walkouts at various Clovis Unified schools in the coming days.

Clovis Unified says any student not excused from class properly “would be considered truant and experience the same consequences as any other student who leaves campus without permission during the school day.”…
