Saturday started with short lived, patchy dense fog in the Valley, before turning to a sunny and mild afternoon. Sunday will also start with dense fog before giving way to a warm and sunny afternoon… but the morning fog will be more widespread, so there’s a Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 11 a.m.
Monday morning will also start out foggy, but will burn off to mostly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures Monday afternoon. The clouds are from an incoming storm, which will bring us a few showers by Tuesday afternoon, lasting through Thursday morning. It won’t be steady rain at all… just an occasional shower from time to time, and we’ll be lucky to pick 1/10″ of rain by Thursday. But this storm should keep us fog-free for the rest of the week.
This looks like the beginning of a significant pattern change, because models are showing another storm heading our way Sunday afternoon and night, another Monday night/Tuesday, and yet a third one on target for Friday. Storm totals from all of these storms could be significant. Snow levels in the Sierra Nevada will drop to near 6000′ by Wednesday, and could drop below 5000′ by next weekend…
