Winter storm warning for Mariposa-Madera Sierra
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Mariposa-Madera Lower Sierra area from 10 PM Sunday through 10 PM Wednesday. Heavy snow is expected, with 3 to 5 feet above 6,000 feet, 5 to 7 feet at the highest elevations, and 1 to 2 feet down to 4,000 feet. Winds may reach 60 mph.
Travel could be very difficult or impossible, especially during the Monday morning and evening commutes. Snow levels will drop from 6,000 feet on Sunday night to 4,000 feet by Tuesday morning, with light snow possible down to 3,000 feet by Tuesday night.
