Chain control and rescues needed as snow drops below 3,000 feet in Madera County

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (

) – Several days of snowfall in the Madera County mountains have left a white coating along the trees and hillsides above Oakhurst.

As of Tuesday afternoon, snow is visible just below the 3,000-foot mark. Up near the Lewis Creek Trail, the snow is falling faster and harder. For those who brave the elements, it’s a sight to see.
