Fresno Police to hold DUI checkpoint March 21

The Fresno Police Department will conduct a DUI checkpoint on Saturday, March 21 from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM at an undisclosed location in Fresno. The checkpoint aims to promote public safety by removing suspected impaired drivers from the road.

The department reminds drivers that impairment can result from alcohol, prescription medications, or marijuana use. A first-time DUI offense can lead to about $13,500 in fines and penalties and a suspended license. The program is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
