LARAMIE — The Wyoming Cowgirls made quick work of the Fresno State Bulldogs Friday afternoon, winning in just over two hours, 4-0. The Cowgirls battled to win the Doubles Point and then dominated singles for the quick victory.
“I think we came out ready to go today,” said head coach Dean Clower. “Ruby (Young) and Serina (Abriola) getting the win at No. 3 was huge. They played our way and I was proud of them. In singles, we came out and played our style at every line and all the girls played really well, I thought.”

At No. 1 doubles, the tandem of Silver Bijlsma and Violetta Borodina continued to play well, earning a swift 6-1 victory. Serina Abriola and Ruby Young were able to clinch doubles for the Cowgirls at the third position. The duo won a battle, 6-4 to secure the UW win.
In singles, Wyoming won a trio of straight-set matchups, coming away with victories at No. 2, 3 and 4. Borodina once again was strong at the third spot, remaining undefeated in Mountain West play as she rolled to a 6-0 and 6-2 win. Next, Bijlsma and Madlena Orlova won almost simultaneously at two and four, respectively. Bijlsma took care of business, 6-4, 6-2 while Orlova came out on top, 6-4 and 6-1. Anastassia Kochelaevskaia was also up one set to none before the match was clinched by the Cowgirls…
