Madera County Celebrates the Life & Service of Supervisor Max Rodriguez

MADERA, CA – Family, friends and colleagues gathered Wednesday morning for a celebration of life honoring the late Supervisor Max Rodriguez. Born November 3, 1939, Max peacefully passed away on April 24, 2026, at the age of 86. His commitment to his community, his steady leadership, and his deep care for others, leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten. Max Rodriguez, who served as Madera County Supervisor representing District 4 from 2004 to 2020, is often referred to as the “Godfather” of high-speed rail, advocated for good paying jobs, enhancing local parks and was the driving force behind the Youth Center at Centennial Park.

Supervisor Leticia Gonzalez, who served as Rodriguez’s chief of staff says, “Max Rodriguez dedicated his life to public service and to the people of Madera County. He was not only a respected leader, but also a dear friend, mentor, advocate and role model not only for me but to this county. His legacy will enrich the lives of our residents for generations to come.”…
