OAKHURST — The Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of David Cervantes as its new Executive Director. In this role, Cervantes will lead efforts to strengthen economic vitality and support small businesses throughout the mountain communities of the Madera County Mountain region.
About David Cervantes
Cervantes holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Communication from Cal State San Bernadino. Born and raised in Southern California, he built a successful career with Target Corporate in Security and Loss Prevention before relocating to Oakhurst 12 months ago to be near family. Having visited Oakhurst and Bass Lake since 2019, while seeing relatives in the area, Cervantes developed a deep appreciation for the community before making it his home.
For the past year, Cervantes has worked with State Farm Insurance, an experience that gave him firsthand insight into the challenges facing small business entrepreneurs in the region. That experience fueled his passion for economic development and his excitement to now serve a Board of Directors committed to increasing the economic health and vitality of the mountain communities.
