SABINE PARISH, La.- A 22-year-old Denton, Texas, man drowned Friday afternoon near Toledo Bend Dam, according to Sabine Parish Sheriff Aaron Mitchell.
Authorities say the man was swimming with friends at the spillway when he went under and did not resurface.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the South Sabine Fire District, North Sabine Fire District, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Sabine River Authority, Acadian Ambulance, Life Air Rescue, and the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Dive Team.
