Students relocated to stadium after middle school evacuation in Carrollton

Students at a Carrollton middle school were relocated to a stadium for dismissal after the campus was evacuated and officials determined the building was unsafe to re-enter.

Bailey Clampitt, a Carrollton city spokesperson, said a reported gas leak during construction work inside Blalack Middle School prompted the evacuation. Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD separately said a carbon monoxide alarm was activated due to ongoing construction on campus.
