A proposed Texas data center, called Project Tomahawk, is drawing attention because it may be sited on more than 39 acres of farmland near established neighborhoods in Prosper.
The project has become a flashpoint for residents worried about how the large industrial-style data center could reshape daily life in a fast-growing suburban community.
Here’s what to know
Content creator Daniel Burke said zoning-change signs were already posted at the Prosper property near Parvin and FM 1385. In a TikTok video, he described the location this way: “right here in Prosper, Texas, in a residential neighborhood on 39 beautiful acres of farmland with a power substation already attached, there is going to be a data center called Tomahawk.”
@burkepartyof6 Prosper, TX: Congratulations on your new data center! Those 39+ acres of farmland at Parvin and FM 1385 have been earmarked for development. A new data center called Project Tomahawk is now rescheduled for review by Prosper P & Z on September 1st. The site is surrounded by neighborhoods such as Arrowbrooke, Sutton Fields, and Windsong Ranch. It is said to create 500 jobs, and there are already signs on the property related to the zoning changes needed for the project to move forward. So if you’ve always wanted to live next to a data center, now is your chance in Prosper, Texas! #ProsperTX#DataCenter#AllThingsDFW#BurkeDFW#RealEstate♬ original sound – Daniel’s TikTok…
