Wylie’s First Costco Is Set To Begin Construction This Fall

Costco is headed to Wylie, with plans for a new warehouse and fuel center representing more than $42 million in construction. A newly registered state construction filing shows plans for an approximately 165,000-square-foot Costco at 2002 W. Kirby St. Construction on the warehouse is scheduled to begin Oct. 12, 2026, and conclude Aug. 6, 2027.

The warehouse carries an estimated construction cost of $40.19 million. A separate fuel center associated with the development is expected to cost approximately $2 million.The filing gives the project a defined construction schedule through August 2027, although TDLR project dates and estimated costs can change as development progresses.

The project would establish Costco’s first location in Wylie, giving residents a closer option than existing warehouses in communities such as Plano and Rockwall.
